The sea adventure helps the child to crack the reading code and develops the phonological awareness. The sea adventure begins on the shore of Ljudens, where the child gets to know the 35 language sounds, each of which is represented by a unique sound figure with its own shape and personality. Here the child discovers that language consists of these sounds and that they form different words if you put them together in different ways. This is the first step to cracking the reading code. Then the journey continues to Bokstavsön, where the child discovers that almost all sound figures are connected to a letter. They also get to learn the alphabet, by getting to know the letter houses and their order. On Bokstavsön, a pattern is visible between the language sounds and the letters that increase the childs linguistic awareness. For example, they learn that there are certain sound figures that do not have a letter attached to them and that there are also letters that do not have their own sound figure but borrow sound figures such as the letter C. The sound figures that have superpowers - The vowels go on to the vocal islands there they get to develop their special abilities that affect how words are pronounced and spelled.
